Tea traditions: from the Nordics to Korea

At PLŪKT, we believe tea is more than a beverage—it’s a bridge between cultures. During our recent visit to Seoul, South Korea, we had the pleasure of meeting with our local distributors and partners who help bring PLŪKT teas to life in this vibrant city. Watch the video of our business travel here.

As we explored the heart of Korea’s tea scene, we discovered at least three beautiful similarities between Nordic and Korean tea cultures:

1. Chamomile – a cherished herb
Chamomile is deeply appreciated in both cultures for its soothing, calming properties. In Korea, it’s a beloved classic. We’re proud to share that our PLŪKT Chamomile Tea is now available at SHINSEGAE Department Store – Gangnam Branch (176 Sinbanpo-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul).

2. A strong herbal tea tradition
Korean tea lovers embrace herbal teas as part of their everyday routines, just like in the Nordics. With a rich heritage of traditional remedies, Koreans recognize the natural health benefits of herbal blends—something PLŪKT is passionate about preserving.

3. Tea is tea—herbal or not
In Korea, herbal teas are proudly referred to as “tea,” which aligns perfectly with our philosophy. In some cultures, herbal infusions are treated differently, but in Korea, we feel right at home. This shared understanding makes it even more meaningful when introducing PLŪKT teas.

We’re also excited to announce that you can now enjoy PLŪKT teas at Forest Outings Café—a charming place where nature meets mindful living. Visit them at:
📍 Forest Outings Café, 6-10 Yanghwa-ro 23-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul

And for those who want to bring the Nordic tea ritual home, stop by:
📍 SHINSEGAE Department Store – Gangnam Branch, 176 Sinbanpo-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul
📍 Forest Outings Retail Store, 3 Yanghwa-ro 23-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul

It’s fascinating how two seemingly distant cultures share such essential tea values. Tea truly brings us together. 🌿
